COLOR: Medium amber with a tendency towards yellow with green highlights.

FLAVOR: A particular hint of daisy and a light bitter and astringent taste.

ODOR: Characteristic, with a floral undertone or floral/fruity; of chrysanthemums

GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN: It can be produced in the greater islands in Italy (Sicily, Sardinia), but the marketing with this denomination is important only in Sardinia, while elsewhere it is more commonly commercialized without specific indications. It is however, present almost in all Italy.

Since an infant's digestive juices are non-acidic, ingestion of honey creates an ideal medium for botulinum spores to grow and produce sufficient levels of toxins to cause infant botulism.
