Amarone della Valpolicella is the
unquestionable king of wines from the Verona area which was originally
achieved from the most ancient Reciota which became casually dry “Amaro”;
the pronunciation used at the beginning of the twentieth century gave the
name to Amarone. The unique and unmistakable characteristic of this wine is
achieved from authentic Valpolicella grapes which have always been
preserved as an irreplaceable patrimony such as Corvina il Corvonino,
Rondinella and Molinara. Apart from the variety, the exclusive
characteristic of this wine is the drying of the grapes through February –
March which makes it an example of a red dry wine passito and refined in
wood. Only when geo-climate, the vines and special production techniques
assume characteristics of excellence and exclusivity is it possible to
accomplish a wine of a most particular personality such as Amarone.
